The Psychedelic Sundaes was formed in 2017 as an Ottawa-based band focused on playing songs primarily from the classic psychedelic era from around 1967 to 1970—faithfully representing bands like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Jefferson Airplane, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. After rehearsing for two whole years and playing 2 sold-out gigs just before Covid hit, the band transitioned into writing original music with that same rich, psychedelic aesthetic.
The lineup consists of Doug Gouthro (guitar/vocals), Kenny Kanwisher (keyboards/guitar/cello/accordion/vocals), Ian Halman (bass/vocals), and Geoff Ward (drums/vocals). Individual members bring decades of playing experience from diverse backgrounds, having shared stages with artists like the John Henrys, Charlie Major, and Sneezy Waters.
